Great Book

It took me a long time to find this book. I would check this book out as first grader over and over. I loved the characters and illustrations. This book as well as a coupleof other books started my love of reading. Years later I came to school to see if I could buy it but they had no record of the book and didn't know anything about it. I figured since no one knew anything about the book it was not popular and I would never find it. Thanks Amazon for helping me find a piece of my childhood that I can give to my son and future grandkids. The book is exactly like I remembered it.

Childhood Memories Revisited

I remember very vividly sitting on the floor of the children's library and reading this book over and over and over again. I'm now twenty one years old and studying to become a folklorist. Weeny Witch fostered imagination in me very early on. The plot is simple, but fantastic. The evil witches devise a plot to rid themselves of the night fairies.....To find out if Weeny Witch saves the day, and to watch her discover something about herself you'll have to read this book!

One of my childhood favorites, too

I am so excited to find this is still in print! I am 33 years old, and I read this book over and over as a child. Weeny Witch felt out of place; she didn't want to do what the rest of her family did. She was not a very good witch. Surprise! She finds out she's a fairy, destined to create beauty in the world. It is a simple but beautifully written and illustrated story that appealed strongly to my desire to find out that I was secretly someone very special. When I gave it to my own children, I was not surprised that the magic of the book was still there...the kids loved it and have read it many times.
